What a shock! Weighed myself this morning as I do typically first thing, and I had gained a pound and half!

What?! Had not eaten poorly yesterday, and usually maintain the same weight! Ugh! As I stepped back, I looked down to find Bailey with her 2 front feet standing between my feet, looking up sweetly.

Whew! Reweighed and was thankful to lose her little contribution!

Have a good day!

Torpedoed Muffin...

Subject: Trouble making Muffin or On the way to Weight Watchers

Good intentions gone astray.

So there I was, half asleep, heading down the road to my  seven o’clock Weight Watchers meeting Saturday morning. The highway was empty, and the day was still grey, as the sun was even slow to show up.  I was without my necessary coffee and toast, as is the usual habit before weigh in. And then I saw it…the bakery sack.

On a weakened moment when I picked up our groceries last night, I bought one cupcake for dinner desert to share with John . It had apparently fallen out of the grocery sack and was laying there in all its glory, hidden by the little white sack which it came in. .

I checked around me as I slowed to the high way stop light. Just me and that inviting banana muffin.  I opened the sack, pulled the trouble maker out, and took a bite. I swallowed. The sweet deliciousness made its way down my throat, and stuck, tripped up by my bad conscience!

“What am I doing?!! I barked as I hit “down” on the side window. I flung the muffin as hard  as I could, not wanting to draw wildlife out to the highway with the smell of the tossed muffin’s sweetness.

That’s when I realized I had hit the driver’s window of a car that was in the turning lane next to me. Where the driver came from, I haven’t a clue. I only know after the shock of him registering that  I had torpedoed him with a muffin, he looked scared.  What can one say at a time like this?

I have never ever  been able to figure these predicaments out…so I just slowly moved on.

Neither rain nor snow can stop a happy pot of sun flowers when you have a helper like Little Miss Busy patrolling and watching for their safety!

Miss Becky’s Sun Flowers! They are up! Or….some are. :^(

I made a tactical error yesterday, as I was working in the yard, after church and brunch, and thought the bowl of happy little sunflowers would like to be out on the patio…Big Mistake.

When the sun decided to hide, it was behind 25 mile winds and sheets of cold rain…I ran for the house from my raspberry patch, made it safely, looked out the kitchen window, and what did I see but my bowl of little guys filled with rainwater and being beaten down.

I bravely rescued them to John’s shaking head, but they are looking like orphans today. We’ll see what their progress is, but I am not counting on them to satisfy the migrating birds of North America!

How about you? Am I the only one in this little party?

These little sun flower seeds want to see their cousin-seeds from the southern colonies of Indiana, Ohio, or where ever they may hale from!

Okay, be well, and happy Sun Flower Season from the far North!
